In Pakistan, the energy sector has been handled with an unprecedented sense of urgency to mitigate current shortages and speed up development of the sector for long term needs. At present natural gas and oil supply the bulk (80%) of Pakistan’s energy needs. However the consumption of these energy sources vastly exceeds the supply.
» Jabbar is currently operating six power stations supplying 1000MW of energy into the national grid in
Pakistan.
» Jabbar is contracting with Government of Pakistan to supply a further 2000MW to meet the rising
demand in energy.
» The existing increase of oil prices is leading the investors in this sector to consider hydel and coal
project on immediate basis and in the long run to establish alternative sources of energy.
» In line with the current climate Jabbar is establishing an Investment Fund to build traditional and
alternative sources of creating energy, to meet the acute shortage of power in Pakistan.
